SONOFF Network Antennas Dongle-M Editorial Review

The SONOFF Zigbee/Thread PoE Dongle Max has garnered a mixed yet mostly positive reception among users, showcasing significant improvements in network performance and latency compared to previous models. Users migrating from earlier Zigbee coordinators, such as the Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB stick, have reported smoother transitions and faster device responsiveness, particularly when integrating with home automation platforms like Home Assistant and Zigbee2MQTT. Many customers appreciate the UI's clarity and responsiveness when accessed via a web browser, highlighting the dongle's well-built design. Enhanced Zigbee range and ability to place the dongle in optimal locations due to its PoE functionality have also been well-received. However, user experiences vary; some encountered difficulty with compatibility, especially with certain products like Aurora Lighting devices, leading to frustration with offline statuses and delayed responses from connected devices. The installation process, while manageable for some, proved challenging for others, particularly in pairing devices using Zigbee2MQTT, which involved multiple attempts. The reliability of the dongle itself was also questioned, as one user reported instability with their initial purchase, which was resolved by replacing it with a stable unit. Overall, while the SONOFF Dongle Max excels in performance and functionality for most users, its suitability depends on specific home automation setups and existing devices. **
