Jose Saramago Editorial Review

**** The Kabil novel has captivated readers with its fluid writing style, as noted by several reviews praising its engaging narrative that makes it difficult to put down. Despite some opinions regarding the compatibility of its themes with Islamic beliefs, many readers have found the philosophical inquiries posed throughout the book to be thought-provoking and worth exploring. The storytelling is described as both rich and meaningful, with the narrative weaving through various religious myths, particularly highlighting the legends associated with monotheistic faiths. Readers have emphasized their enjoyment of the book, indicating that it can be read quickly due to its concise nature and yet, offers a depth of stories and meanings that resonate profoundly. Critics have commented on Saramago's exceptional ability to connect events and ideas within the plot, although there are mixed reactions to his embellishment of certain elements, such as the depiction of Noah. Overall, Kabil has been received as a significant literary work that challenges readers and invites them to reConsider familiar narratives. **
