The Audiovox APS997E Two-Way Remote Start is an advanced vehicle remote start system that allows you to start your vehicle from a distance using a key fob. This system is designed to provide convenience and comfort, enabling you to warm up or cool down your car before you enter. With two-way communication, you receive confirmation signals back to your remote, ensuring that your vehicle has started successfully. This feature not only enhances usability but also adds an extra layer of security.

How does the two-way communication feature work?

The two-way communication feature of the Audiovox APS997E allows the remote control to receive audible feedback from the vehicle. When you activate the remote start, the system sends a confirmation signal back to your remote, letting you know that the car has started. This is particularly useful in noisy environments or for users who may not be able to visually confirm the vehicle's status. Overall, this enhances user confidence and ensures that the starting process is handled correctly.

Is the Audiovox APS997E compatible with all vehicles?

The Audiovox APS997E is designed to work with a wide range of vehicles, particularly those equipped with automatic transmissions. However, compatibility can vary based on the make and model of your vehicle. This ensures that you can enjoy the benefits of remote starting without complications.

What are the safety features of the Audiovox APS997E?

The Audiovox APS997E includes several safety features, notably the 'data white' output, which prevents the vehicle from being accidentally left in gear, ensuring that it won't move unexpectedly when started. Additionally, the system features a parked-car security alert, which can notify you if your vehicle is being tampered with. These features not only provide peace of mind but also ensure that users can start their vehicles safely without worrying about unintended consequences.

Can I install the Audiovox APS997E myself?

While it is possible to install the Audiovox APS997E yourself if you have electrical wiring experience, it is generally recommended to have a professional install the system. A professional installation ensures that all connections are secure and the system is set up according to manufacturer specifications, reducing the risk of malfunctions. Professional installers can also integrate the system with existing vehicle security features, providing a more seamless user experience.

What is included in the Audiovox APS997E package?

The Audiovox APS997E package typically includes the main remote start unit, two remote key fobs, wiring harnesses, and comprehensive installation instructions. Some packages may also include additional components for enhanced functionality, such as an indicator LED or a siren. Having all the necessary components allows for a smoother installation process, whether you opt to install it yourself or seek professional assistance.

What range does the Audiovox APS997E offer?

The Audiovox APS997E provides an impressive remote range of up to one mile, depending on environmental conditions. This allows you to start your vehicle from a comfortable distance, whether you’re inside a building or near your home. The significant range is particularly useful in busy parking lots or moments when you need to start your car without exposure to the elements. This feature enhances the convenience factor, allowing you to enjoy your vehicle regardless of the weather.

What if my remote starts malfunction?

In the event that your Audiovox APS997E remote starts malfunction, first check the batteries in your remote, as low battery power can affect functionality. Also, inspect any visible wiring for signs of damage or disconnection. If the problem persists, consulting with an installer or technician familiar with the product would be the best course of action. Regular maintenance and checks can help avoid issues and ensure that your remote start system operates smoothly.

Does the Audiovox APS997E have an override feature?

Yes, the Audiovox APS997E comes equipped with a valet mode, which allows you to temporarily disable the remote start feature.
