    Risposta: No - don't use with your laminator! Unlike decofoil, this is a heat activated product (the deco foil requires the transfer medium like laser printer toner, transfer gel, or adhesive sheets). If you put this through your laminator, you'll just get a big block of foil.

    Risposta: @Estelle No, this is not a Thermoweb product. This is a Spellbinders product. They are NOT the same kinds of foils. Thermoweb foils are the kind that can be used with a laminator or Minc machine because they’re toner reactive. They can be used with Thermoweb’s proprietary pastes. Spellbinders’ foils are hear activated foils that are NOT used in laminators/Minc machines, but rather with heat foil transfer systems like Spellbinders Glimmer machine and the similar machines made by Couture Creations and Gemini.
  • Domanda: Does this foil work in laminators?

  • Domanda: Is this material transparent for overlay use? Looking to make some hand made playing cards holographic looking.

    Risposta: It isn’t. Try searching for clear holographic vinyl or sheets. People use it to overlay stickers and things to give it a tru holo effect.

    Risposta: I'm guessing not. The only ones that work with the Glimmer system are these. Therefore, I assume that they won't work with other machines.
  • Domanda: Does spellbinders glf-012 4 metallic & holographic variety pack glimmer hot foil roll work with gopress foil machine?

    Risposta: Yes it does!
  • Domanda: Can I use this on a phone case?

    Risposta: No, you need a vinyl for phone cases. This is made for foil transfer machines that use metal plates.

    Risposta: Yes. That is the machine I use them with.

Spellbinders Metallic Paper & Foil 620407 Editorial Review

The Spellbinders GLF-012 is a holographic heat activated foil that can only be used with Spellbinders Glimmer machine and similar heat foil transfer systems. It does not work with laminators, laser printers or Minc machines. Customers have experienced blotchy transfers with high heat and suggested a low temperature setting or a 3mil thickness on the laminator to achieve desired results. The roll dimensions are 5”x15ft and are overall considered small, but provide sufficient material for card making and scrapbooking projects. This item is not designed for wrapping as it is not a proper foil, but for crafting purposes with hot foil systems. Despite mixed feedback, customers who were able to use it successfully found it to be an affordable and elegant addition to any foiling project.
