Can the security cable be used independently of the U-lock?

Yes, the 10mm x 4ft security cable can be used independently to secure accessories like helmets or bags, or even additional bike components. It's an flexible solution for cyclists who want to enhance the security of multiple items beyond just the bike frame. Consider using it in conjunction with the U-lock for additional peace of mind when leaving your bike unattended.

How do I maintain the Kryptonite Evolution Mini-7 for longevity?

To maintain your Kryptonite Evolution Mini-7, periodically clean the shackle and locking mechanism to prevent dirt buildup. Apply a lubricant, such as graphite, occasionally to ensure smooth operation of the lock. Regular maintenance helps keep the lock functioning optimally while extending its lifespan, which is essential for consistent theft protection.
