Format: Blu-ray Anime Editorial Review
Made in Abyss is a highly recommended anime series for those who don't mind mature content with graphic violent scenes and gore. The artwork used can suggest that it is designed for children, but it is not suitable for young audiences. The series has an excellent plot with surprising twists that keeps the viewer on the edge of their seat from one episode to the next. The Blu-ray version is recommended as the sound is of high quality, playing 7.1 channel sound on the Marantz system. The story is creative, with elaborate backgrounds and imaginative creatures. The set includes the series and films. The first two films rehash the events of the show, and the third film continues the story. Fans are awaiting the release of season 2 on Blu-ray.
